Under the scam, taxpayers receive an email notice, purportedly from the IRS Chief of Criminal Investigations, indicating there are issues with their filing and requesting disclosure of all their &#8220;domestic and international financial accounts.&#8221; The notice instructs the recipient to fax this information to 888-265-4730 (not an IRS number).<\/p>\n<p>Taxpayers who receive such a notice should not reply.
